A frequent question from new candidates: do I buy the Core Module, a Subject Module, or both? The short answer is both — but here is why, and how to do it without overpaying.
The Core Module
The Core Module trains the reasoning every dMAT candidate is tested on — Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares. It is non-negotiable: every candidate is scored on it, regardless of field.
The Subject Module
Your Subject Module is matched to your discipline and covers Basic and Advanced tasks. This is where field knowledge is tested in depth. Mechanical Engineering prep is not Computer Science prep — "similar enough" is not a strategy here.
Which combination is right for you
- Just starting, want to see quality first? Begin with the free study sample, then the Core Module.
- Committed to sitting the exam? Take the Core + Subject bundle — full coverage in one purchase, and it costs less than buying separately.
- Already strong in your subject? You still need the Core Module; consider adding a mock to test your timing.
The bundle maths
Buying Core and a Subject together saves money versus buying them one at a time. If you know you are sitting the exam, the bundle is almost always the rational choice.
Do not gamble on skipping the Core to save a little — it is the one module every candidate is scored on.
Compare options on the modules page and build your bundle.
